To reach River Lodge, you can canoe, kayak, cycle or hike through pristine nature. River Lodge is situated along the canoe trail, the bicycle trail and the hiking trail in the Malingsbo - Kloten Nature Reserve in Sweden.
Canoes, kayaks, bicycles, mountain bikes and rowboats are available for rent at Nordic Discovery’s Adventure Center, 10 km south of River Lodge, along the canoe trail, the bicycle trail and the hiking trail. www.nordicdiscovery.se

First Floor
The ground floor has 1 apartment with a quadruple bedroom, private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and lake view.
A shared living room has access to a big veranda located right in front of the lake.

Apartment with the canoe trail outside the window. The quadruple bedroom has one big double bed and one bunk bed.

Second floor
The first floor has 3 double bedrooms, a living room with TV and a fully equipped kitchen. All the rooms have lake views.
1 double bedroom with private toilet and shared shower, and 2 double bedrooms with shared toilet and shower. The bed sofa in the living room can be folded out to a double bed if needed.

Canoeing and kayaking to River Lodge
River Lodge is located along the 50 km canoe trail, the Northern Canoe Trail. The canoe trail goes in a circular loop with the option to paddle the trail in 1-5 days, with 1 night stay at River Lodge. Other nights you camp in tent, or shorten the paddle trip to 1 or 2 days. For overnight guests, there is an option to end the paddle trip, and leave rented canoes and kayaks at River Lodge.

Bicycle and mountain biking to River Lodge
River Loge is located half way along the 64 km bicycle trail Nyforsleden and the 47 km Malingsbo - Kloten Nature Reserve trail.
With an overnight stay at River Lodge, Nyforsleden is a nice two-day trip, with two day-trips on 32 km or a two-day trip, with two day-trips on 23,5 km on the Malingsbo - Kloten Nature Reserve trail.
An option is to cycle straight to River Lodge. Then the distance is 11 km. For overnight guests, there is an option to end the bicycle trip, and leave rented bicycles and mountain bikes at River Lodge.

Hiking to River Lodge
River Lodge is located along the 37 km long hiking trail, the Malingsbo -Kloten Triangle. A classic three-day hike in the Malingsbo - Kloten Nature Reserve's wilderness. The hike follow marked hiking trails between the small villages, Malingsbo, Kloten and Nyfors, with indoor accommodation at the River Lodge in Nyfors and at the Wilderness Lodge i Kloten. www.wildernesslodge.se
River Lodge is also located along Euro Trail 1, and along the extension of the Bergslagen Trail. An extension on 39 km (from the Bergslagen Trail's starting point in Kloten) to Smedjebacken, with the intention to reach the Bergslagen Trail by direct train connection from Stockholm.
Wilderness
All food has to be bought before you travel to the Malingsbo - Kloten Nature Reserve.
There are no supermarkets in the wilderness. The River Lodge has refrigerators and fully-equipped kitchens.
Is it possible to reach River Lodge with a car?
It is possible to reach River Lodge with a car, but the recommendation is to reach River Lodge with canoe, kayak, bicycle or by foot.
Wood heated sauna and a dock at the river
The sauna is built at the water in the direction of the setting sun, for the best possible chances of spectacular sunsets.
Sauna, included fire wood, start heating preparation and cleaning: 150 SEK/person (minimum charge 600 SEK/occasion).
Sauna, when the clients bring their own fire wood, do their own heating and do their own cleaning: 125 SEK/person (minimum charge 500 SEK/occasion).
Wintertime: An ice cut to reach the water from the dock: 200 SEK.
Additional: Shower 25 SEK/person.
The sauna is booked for the period of 3 hours for private groups.

Canoeing and Kayaking with start at River Lodge
Nordic Discovery's Canoe Center is located 10 km south of River Lodge, but it is possible to rent canoes, kayaks and rowboats at River Lodge according to the following:

At the River Lodge there are 6 pitches for caravans and motor homes, and grass for tent camping.
